Quite a number of people talk about leadership as empowerment. Giving directions to your teammate and letting them to do the task without any supervision allowing them to make mistakes and learn from that. That's cool but I personally as a leader and a follower would prefer the leader to join the battle instead of watching the battle from a tower.
I believe in leaders risking everything for the well-being of followers not the other way around. When you are a leader, don't expect that your team won't be needing any help. They need you more than anything else until they become a leader. You can groom a leader better by doing things together instead of watching and correcting them.
They need your help and there's nothing wrong for you to get to the ground and guide them. It's really important to guide them but it's bad to babysit your followers. This means do delegate but take up a small task along with them to contribute to the project.
This will engage and excite them as you are showing interest in their project and they will work better to produce better results.
Try it out and do something small such as sharing an idea on doing things better, giving additional resources or even an extra hand.
Give a little help to the little fella.
Think Small
