Think Small

For a decade plus I have been preaching to every single person that I met only about one thing. To think big. I was moved by this idea and I have never failed to think big. It has always been audacious, crazy big goals and some of them I achieved but the rest drained me because of lacking resources and knowledge or failing to reach the deadline. At the age of 30, I looked back and I realized I have made a big mistake and I practiced something that was not giving me happiness.

True happiness for me lies in doing what I love and giving contribution to people. Like a good value that can impact their lives. Thinking big drained me and my energy. It made me to be sad all the time because I was not able to do what I am supposed to do which is to be aligned with my big audacious goal. I decided to end this feeling and I discovered the idea of thinking small when I made my search again on how successful people were able to serve millions and billions.

All of them had one thing in common. They started small. They never had a big idea or a goal. All they had was something inside of them and also a project in hand that grew big and forced them to expand as well. Take Google. Basically it was the founders' final year project. They even tried to sell to search engine companies. They solved a problem in hand and as the problem grow they adapt themselves to the problem and made it happen. When they couldn't sell, they decided to tackle that problem by running it to prove to others on the viability of the product.

Fast forward now, they have expanded beyond their wildest dreams. Yes, they never thought of it. So, here we go. Instead of draining myself and being saddened by the inability to move fast in impacting millions of lives, I am thinking small.  I want to inspire you, the one reading this now to do what is possible today so that you can achieve the impossible tomorrow. It's going to be a beautiful journey as all I am thinking is to share my small little thoughts sincerely without a big audacious goal. Let's see where it goes. There are many ways to achieve success and happiness. This is my way.

If You Don't Know What You Want Then Do This

One of the hardest point in my life was to find out what I really wanted. You can call that a goal, purpose or a milestone to be reached but I am talking about identity crisis here. When you are following a mentor you are becoming more like them in your shades and at one point you will realize that you can fulfill your potential further than that.  You have your own and unique potential and to discover that, you need to embark on a self discovery journey. That journey might take decades because you must try a lot and find out what works for you. Sometimes, it won't be just one calling for all. There might be a few in a row. To cut it short there's a simple way to find out what you want if you don't know what you really want. We have to go the opposite way and find out what you don't want. Choose someone that you know and you don't like. List down every single details on why you don't like that person. Write as many as you can until you run out of ideas. Now the ...

No One Has Ever Become Poor By Giving

No one has ever become poor by giving. - Anne Frank. She was 15 years old when she wrote this in her diary. To give is to achieve your life's purpose. Giving without any expectations is the purest of all. You don't necessarily have to give money. It can be love, time, knowledge and joy. Best of all it'll return back to you. Givers are achievers. You must give value and in return you will receive value too. Give like there's nothing to lose. Give it with love. Think Small T. Mohanadasan

New Year Resolution Won't Work Unless You Do This

It's New Year already and you must have decided to set a goal either for your physical fitness or financial fitness. Whatever your goal is it won't work if you can't stick to it for long term. The body that you have now is the sum of the food choices that you made over the years and you expect you can change just like that. No, it won't work. The ultimate reason why you fail to stick to your goal is because of your environment. No matter how hard you try, some external forces will suppress you and your goal. Don't try to fight it because you will fail harder the next time. The only thing that you must do before setting any resolution is to change your environment. You are the product of your environment. If you were born in a war zone, probably your resolution must be to stay alive. Your environment can shape you and it has power over you. The best thing that you can do is to set your environment in a way that can be inducing for you to create and follow processes t...
